I checked for an update. FF7 was available. I ran yum update. On reboot, I got this:

I swear I did not change the system language. I have no clue how it happened. Not so surprisingly, I have no clue how I fixed it. Undid some yum, changed some language settings (yes, sys-conf-lang was in arabic too, so quite a lot of guess work there!)
